Linguagum started in 2006 as a simple a way to help EFL students keep their English alive between lessons and so learn English faster than they otherwise might. The service was successful, and is used by students all over the globe.
The name Linguagum sums up the idea: pop a sentence into your mouth for the day and chew it over. It's an effortless way to practise your English.
In 2007 we won a Melt Research & Development award to develop a way to send English practice to mobile phones and during 2008 we built the Linguagum you're looking at now, capable of delivering themed multimedia EFL content to desktops and mobile phones.
We're now looking forward to partnerships with schools and other language training providers, as well as continuing to provide daily practice to our growing band of students.

*It means "Listen up, cloth-ears!"
It comes from our publicity photo for the Melt Award, which was shot at a chilly bus stop in Sheffield, a city in the north of England where (some of the) people speak like this.
Yes, this is us. Did you think we would be better looking?
