Hello, how are you? Here’s another example of ellipsis.

Should do.

Notes

  • So far we’ve seen: don’t know / could be / might have.
  • Now we have should do.
  • Again, no pronoun, because from the context of the conversation we know who / what is being spoken about.
  • E.g. "Do you think you’re going to get the promotion?" "Should do." (I should do / I should get the promotion.)
  • Do replaces the verb get.
